Sexual energy is seen as something very taboo or "new age nonsense" but that is far from the truth. Your sexual energy is like any other energy force which you posses. Everything in the universe down to the atom is made of energy and energy is constantly exchanging in different expressions. Sex is
No exception for it's the act that creates new life or energy. This energy is not understood or even known by many. This book speaks of ways to redirect this energy allowing you to live a healthier life, reach your goals and improve your sex life. It opens many doors of your awareness. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to achieve the most optimal use and balance of sexual energy. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish it went into a little more detail and was more specific on certain techniques for harnessing your sexual energy.

Many sentences lack spacing between the words, and it is not compatible with the Macbook Kindle app. Neither can it be viewed in landscape orientation on the iPhone app. Hoping to find a hard copy, but if not I might just purchase the version available in iBooks. Very disappointing...

I'm not really sure what this author was trying to accomplish with this read. The key to being a successful writer IMO is to gain a readers interest. This book is written without mistakes but is nothing that will stand out. This book is predictable in that there is any number of of P&P varaiations out there with passion written in the pages. Linda Berdoll, Ola Wegener, Abigail Reynolds are a few off the top of head and whats more you get a complete story with their books. The fact that this book is 11 pages and .99 is such a disappointment and had it not been Kindle Unlimited would have never been read by me. It is not erotic which is what is usual in a short read. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Not much story here

This is quite short. It just describes fully clothed sexual foreplay initiated by ELizabeth with Darcy in the carriage immediately following their wedding and wedding breakfast, then getting as quickly to their chambers as possible once they arrive at Darcy House. There's nothing that makes this a Pride and Prejudice story except the character names. Could have been any newly-married Recency couple riding in a carriage. The writing itself is okay. Glad I read it through Kindle Unlimited - I would not have been happy to pay for this.

One writer's Darcy fantasy

It is a truth universally acknowledged that every lady, whether young, old, or in-between, who has read Pride & Prejudice or seen one of the film adaptations, has Darcy fantasies. Margaret Gale's brief fantasy should have been on an Austen-author fiction site, or included in a book of short stories, or as a chapter in a longer tale. By itself there's not much substance. The story is told from a rather creative point of view -- and is also rather naughty. So if you like that sort of thing, it's worth reading.

Excellent reference text for the OR nurse!

As an LPN, this book was specifically recommended to me by my OR department manager to help me learn the basic information I needed as a scrub nurse. I have found it to be a highly valuable tool in my learning process. It has been very informative and useful as well as easy to read and includes many helpful pictures and graphs that aid in learning and comprehending the material. I know this book will also be a great asset for me in completing my RN to further my education and knowledge as an OR nurse. I would recommend this book to anyone entering the OR field of nursing! I know I will find this text an indispensable reference for many years to come! I was just wondering if there is an additional workbook that correlates with this text book?

Most comprehensive Operating Room text there is.

I used Berry & Kohn's Operating Room Technique in nursing school 26 years ago and it is STILL the best text there is about perioperative nursing. This text ranges from basic Aseptic Technique to the more complex surgical procedures. Positioning, procedures, and practice guides make this a must have for anyone in the field of surgery, whether they are a surgical tech, an RN, or an educator. I use it in planning inservices for staff development.

For the occasional PM with ideas for the pro

This book is the best I've come across for the occasional project manager. It also contains techniques that even a seasoned project manager will find useful.
For the occasional project manager the authors provide a straightforward and [in my opinion] foolproof approach to planning and managing projects. What I like is the emphasis is on taking the time to properly plan the project, and focus on what is going to be delivered and the quality of the deliverables. While deliverable-based project management is one way to assure a properly planned and managed project too many PMs only discover this basic fact after many projects and not a few disasters. This book brings this technique to the occasional PM and explains it in a manner that makes sense. Deliverable quality is addressed by showing the PM how to develop customer acceptance criteria. This ensures that the stakeholders are getting what they require in a form that can be measured. For anyone who has developed a solution using sketchy requirements only to have the solution rejected, the customer acceptance criteria alone makes this book worthwhile.
For the advanced project manager the method outlined is missing some critical elements, such as earned value project management and a coherent discussion of developing a work breakdown structure. However, these oversights can be overcome by purchasing a book such as Visualizing Project Management, which covers these basics. What is not found in any other project management book I've read (and there are dozens) is the integrated use of common analysis and decision techniques that is the topic of Chapter 11. The approach is based on identification, organization, analysis and selection (choices). These are achieved through affinity diagramming (identification and organization), interrelationship diagraph (analysis and choice), a decision matrix (analysis and choice) and multivoting (analysis and choice). The end result is a thorough analysis and consensus among all project stakeholders for deliverables, acceptance criteria and other aspects of the project. These tools are extended in Appendix D, which briefly, but succinctly, describes the Martin Tate Problem Solving Methodology.
Occasional and advanced project managers alike will benefit from the detailed instructions for managing project changes, the many checklists and tables throughout the book (augmented by well designed illustrations), and the way the authors blend hard project management techniques with people skills.
If you find yourself tasked with managing relatively simple projects this should be the first book to which you turn. If you are a seasoned professional who wants to add some effective skills to your bag of tricks this book will prove to be a wise investment.

Even Enhances the Skills of Experienced Project Managers

This is an easy to read book for anyone seeking an introduction to project management or to refine their skills.
The book goes beyond a mere introduction to the four phases of project management - initiation, planning, execution and closeout -- by providing tools which integrate common analysis and decision techniques. The authors' approach is based on identification, organization, analysis and choice. Their toolset provides a roadmap to help teams make the best decisions during the planning and execution phases of the project.
I also found the sample team contract and self-assessments found in the appendix to be insightful.
There is a beauty in simplicity; Paula Martin and Karen Tate have achieved it with this book. Even if you have been practicing project management for years, spend some time with this book. The insights contained in it will reward you for years to come.

Whether you are a project manager, someone who manages project managers or the poor soul picked to "manage" that career-killing, out of control project, this book is for you.
Breaking down the practice of project management into easy to learn steps, Martin and Tate take you through the basics of project management.
Using the principles defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Martin and Tate take you through each step, from assembling your team and assigning roles through to completion (and celebration!).
If you are uneasy about managing projects or simply don't know what is entailed, this book will put you at ease. Once you understand the basic principles of managing a project (any project!) and lay out the steps defined, it is easy to bring your projects under control.
Whether you take the Martin-Tate class on Project Management or not, this book belongs in your library. As with any good reference book, you'll find yourself referring back to it over time.

As people grow older, time seems to speed up, the years flitting by without a pause. How does our sense of time come about? In Felt Time, Marc Wittmann explores the riddle of subjective time, explaining our perception of time -- whether moment by moment, or in terms of life as a whole. Drawing on the latest insights from psychology and neuroscience, Wittmann offers a new answer to the question of how we experience time.

Wittmann explains, among other things, how we choose between savoring the moment and deferring gratification; why impulsive people are bored easily, and why their boredom is often a matter of time; whether each person possesses a personal speed, a particular brain rhythm distinguishing quick people from slow people; and why the feeling of duration can serve as an "error signal," letting us know when it is taking too long for dinner to be ready or for the bus to come. He considers the practice of mindfulness, and whether it can reduce the speed of life and help us gain more time, and he describes how, as we grow older, subjective time accelerates as routine increases; a fulfilled and varied life is a long life. Evidence shows that bodily processes -- especially the heartbeat -- underlie our feeling of time and act as an internal clock for our sense of time. And Wittmann points to recent research that connects time to consciousness; ongoing studies of time consciousness, he tells us, will help us to understand the conscious self.

Highly recommended.

An absorbing read on a topic that few write about with the kind of research background that Wittmann has. I've been able to take his descriptions of felt time and apply them in the classroom when explaining some of the dynamics of substance use and the challenges of recovery from misuse. Time perception lies at the heart of many disorders of thinking and behaving and a focus on this one dimension of human perception offers a unique and fresh way to enter into how different consciousnesses take in the world.

Delightfully, the book is short and does not suffer from what seems the norm these days - endless repetitions of contents that could be handled with economy. This is a well written and well supported set of ideas about how our perception of time affects our views of self and situations. Highly recommended.

Only sort of about time perception.

Given the title I was expecting a book with a more empirical and focuses review of the time perception literature than what this book delivers. Much of it was sort of interesting but much of it also was only tangentially related to actual time perception. This is especially true of the first chapter which presents a wandering discussion of how people value costs and benefits in the future as opposed to the present. The best part of the book is that on why time appears to have gone by faster as we get older. The idea here is that during adolescence we encounter in our lives many events and experiences that are new to us and so leave a lasting impression in memory when we look back years later. In contrast, after adolescence our lives become quite predictable and pretty much the same year after year. Thus those post-adolescence years have fewer events that stand out in memory and when we remember back to those years the fewer specific events that come to mind make those years appear to have passed rapidly. It's a version of the filled time illusion - which the author somehow never mentions.
The author has a philosophical bent so there is the expected amount of hand waving and obscurantism. For example, on page 102 where Jana is quoted: "For something can only be present if there is someone for whom it is present." This reminds me of Chomsky's famous sentence "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously." I understand the meaning of each word in these two sentences but the sentences themselves are devoid of meaning.
The lack of an index speaks of a penny-pinching publisher.
For a much more experimentally based review of the time perception literature see Grondin's (2008) "Psychology of Time."

Good for "part A."

The Dick and Carey ISD model is a refreshing update to a field over-saturated with ADDIE. Though a nice change, this model remains just that; a model, and it should not be taken as a schematic to be obeyed. With the advances in rapid prototyping, and other emergent e-learning technologies, adhering to a purely linear development process can become overly complicated. Still, human cognition remains, regardless of what tools are used or trends are followed, and the Dick and Carey model provides a systematic method for ensuring that the learning fits the context. Still, as with many instructional design theories out there, a large degree of interpretation is required in order to actually apply these principles.

If being used as class textbook, this book is best taken in tandem with a practical course/courseware design book, so that students can begin applying some of these principles. Theoretical knowledge is great, but without some proximal means of practical application, the potential for affective-level understanding soon tapers off.

Big Fail - not supported on Kindle Paperwhite

Don't buy the e-text without checking it will work on your devices! I recently purchased a Kindle Paperwhite--not even the most recent version--and the e-book does NOT work on ANY Paperwhite models. WTF? Really? Why not? Serious FAIL. I will definitely think twice before purchasing any textbooks. If you're a publisher, author or whoever associated with a text--you will suffer from fails like this; it reflects poorly on your publication. Period. Even if it's a required text for a many education programs. And you wonder why people go to great lengths to pirate.... Thanks for making it that much harder to get school reading done.
