When a black man meets a white woman and they fall in love, sometimes there are more pressing matters that concern them than the predictable fuss over an interracial relationship. His half-brother, Reggie, has finally checked into a drug rehabilitation program but only after casting their older brother, Darrell, into bankruptcy. In the rural South, where racial tensions are more frightening and immediate than Jordan remembers, he must not only suffer his older brother's harangues against dating white women but also do so while loaning him money. Kimberly, meanwhile, is trying to rid herself of an obnoxious, white ex-boyfriend and come to grips with a secret past that she fears will make Jordan doubt her love for him. Dickey once again has done an awesome job writing this story

Mr. Dickey once again has done an awesome job writing this story. It is a great read and I recommend it. As you are reading his books, you can actually see it play before your eyes. You can picture the actor and actresses to play the characters and while you are reading, you are enjoying the show as well. I love the way he describe the characters and how he make you feel the story. Eric Jerome Dickey is the author of all time and he is a cool guy in person. I recommend this great read.

One of my favorite books of all time!!!

I loved this book so much, I've read it twice. Anyone who has been in an interracial relationship can understand the issues this couple has to deal with. I really appreciate how Kimberly comes off as being a strong women. Not weak like most white women are portrayed to be in most interracial love stories. My only problem with Jordan is, he is too worried about what everyone else thinks of his realitionship with Kimberly. I say, f--k'em. If they have a problem with it, you don't need them. In the end, it's always hard to find out that you really don't have friends in this world, only associates. I'm glad there was a happy ending to the story.

Let's just say I don't like the way he ended this book That's why I gave it 3 stars he could of did better on this one!!!! Other than that I can say it's an okay book....Truth be told this my first time giving him 3 stars

very good for an introduction on the theme

Economics of Crime by Hellman and Alper is a very good title if you want to start studying the subject of the economic approach of crime. It is very comprehensive (it discusses several kinds of crimes, like theft, murder, prostitution, drugs, etc.), but it has its limitations, since it is made, in the words of the authors, for an "audience with limited background in economics". If you have a good knowledge of economic theory, you'll probably find this book too simple. However, if you don't have any knowledge of economics whatsoever, this book may be too difficult for you.

The last reviewer pretty much nailed it...If you like graphs, formulas, hookers, cartels, heroin trade, and murder ..Then you will LOVE this book....Some of the econ stuff is pretty simplistic...It even tells you what a SUPPLY curve looks like in the beginning..I give it one extra star for the prostitution GRAPHS...W00t!!!

A nice collector's item.

I would like to note that this is 12 STORIES, not 12 books. It's a collection of short stories. As a matter of fact, all 12 stories combine to a grand total of 592 pages. That said, I think it's neat having a collection of small stories, and the postcards are fantastic! I haven't read all the stories yet, so I can't comment on how good or bad they are, but I think, if you're a Doctor Who fan this is definitely worth the money. The stories are good ones to share with children, as well as read yourself. I intend to share them with my students (5th grade).

While they are different Doctors, they all wield the same tools, such as the Sonic Screwdriver, his stolen TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space – I.E. his spaceship that’s “bigger on the inside”), his various companions, and of course the Doctor’s knowledge as a Time Lord.

This can get boring quickly.

Excellent Devotional!

This is an updated version of the previous edition. In his preface, the author states that the world has changed so much in the twenty-five years since the book was originally published. Therefore, he felt led to make several changes for a new generation of readers. I, personally, am very thankful that the book is now back in print.
The format is pretty typical of a devotional: From the top down there is the date, a title, a Bible verse, a story/meditation, and a prayer at the bottom. I found this to be a light gentle read. However, that is not to say that this book was "surfacey" in any way, shape, or form. In fact, the words in this book brought great conviction to me one minute, tears another, and then joy a few minutes later.
If a devotional goes too in depth, it loses me. If a devotional is too shallow, I tend to blow it off in my mind. Either way, I don't get much from a devotional that is too in depth OR too shallow. Fortunately, this devotional was neither; it was just right.
Adeptly integrating spiritual truths, anecdotes, and personal revelations, Billy Graham covers a vast array of topics in this devotional. I was blessed as I read about topics such as wisdom, hope, marriage, family, and angels. I was convicted and cut to the core as I read about topics like strength during suffering, prejudice, discouragement, and selfishness. Through it all, I felt drawn closer to God, which, in my opinion, is what makes a great devotional.

A good, solid, basic devotional.

It's a good, solid, basic devotional ... that's a bit "dated" with respect to some of the "current state of the world" references and there are a noticable number of "typos" in Bible verse and commentary. Non-the-less, I would recommend this devotional.
